Russian naval presentation dirk "Golden Weapon" decorated with a badge of the Order of St. George. Damascus blade with gold inlay inscription of the ship's name "МОРЖЪ" (Walrus) - a WW1 Imperial Submarine. Maker: Schaff & Sons, Saint Petersburg. Attributed to the ship's captain bestowed for action agains Turkish naval ships in the area of the Bosphorus Strait.

Description:

Straight double-edged Damascus steel blade with gold inlayed ship's name "МОРЖЪ" (Walrus) and malker's name "ШАФЪ С-ЬЯ / С.П.Б" (Schaff & Sons, St. Petersburg) under the Imperial eagle. The brass grip has 10 cross grooves, the ball-shaped pommel is decorated with laurel leaves and ends with a tablet shaped piece with anaffixed enameled order of the St. George cross. The ends of the crossguard are rounded and bent in opposite directions. The inscription "ЗА ХРАБРОСТЬ " (For Valour) is engraved on both sides of the crossguard. Wooden scabbard is covered with black leather and has brass fittings and rings decorated with laurel leaves.

Condition: Very good original condition, showing very little wear.
