Ca. 1969 "Honorary KGB Serviceman" award presentation dirk.
Description: One of the rarest types of Soviet dirks. Similar in shape to service side arm used in Soviet Navy, Army and Airforce branches, this dirk was not issued to all officers, buut presented as an award for distinguished service in the field of National Security. It has an engraved images of the USSR Coat of Arms and "Honorary State Security Serviceman" badge on the locket and etched image of "Honorary State Security Serviceman" badge on the steel blade along with ornamentation unique to this type of award weapon. Missing from most collections of Soviet and World dirks and daggers.
