Description:
Rare gold black enamel 3rd class cross of the Russian order of Saint Vladimir. Central medallion has a high quality depiction of the order's insignia on one side and date 22 September of 1782 on the other. The cross comes with an original gold loop wire and is marked on the loop with maker's mark "ИЛ," Town mark of Saint Petersburg and "56" zolotniks (14 k) gold purity mark. It measures approx. 45 mm across. It comes with a provenance of well known American auction.
Condition: Superb original condition, ever so tiny hair crack and minor dirt on white enamel and very minor cosmetic scratches on the gold surface as shown.
